THE sign....

Pretty excited about our new KaeLee Denise Photography sign!

Which will be used at Wedding Festivals and events/shows. The sign was made by Caleb Goins at Native Tribe Designs in Asheville, NC. If you've never checked out Caleb's signs and sculptures---you should- they are amazing! I was super impressed by how fast he got it done :)

Autumn Olive Photography....

With a list a mile long of things I SHOULD be doing- editing photos, designing two wedding albums, setting up my new blog site, printing and preparing photo orders, instead I got sucked into blogging.

I just wanted to share one photo from Sara and Nathan's wedding last weekend. My friend, Cristen, owns Autumn Olive Photography out of Marion, NC. I had the great pleasure of being her second shooter for a wedding last weekend. A gorgeous small wedding.

Thanks Cristen for having me along....

Oh how I love photographing sweet babies....

Alaska...part II

More more more!!! Everyone wants more photos from our Alaska trip...here they are!

The boys did a lot of fishing while we were there, sockeye salmon, pink salmon, grayling and trout! Although I did fish for salmon I was unsuccessful, BUT I did catch a lake trout with ease! The rest of my time at the river was spent reading Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. :) Since I never find time to read at home, except at bed time, which only means a couple of pages each night.

We visited "Exit" Glacier which was an amazing experience, though also quite sad. As you are driving toward the glacier there are wooden signs with a date on each. The location of these signs marks where the edge of the glacier touched that year. While hiking the trail that runs to the top of the glacier we met another couple who had visited the glacier just two years earlier and commented on how much it had melted back just in two years! Its an eye opener to see just how much global warming is effecting every aspect of our planet.

Chris and I also hiked a couple of days. Gorgeous Gorgeous Gorgeous is all I can say!

Eastern Fly Fishing Magazine...

The July/August 2010 issue of Match the Hatch: Eastern Fly Fishing Magazine featured an "Urban Angler" on Brevard, NC! This article also featured a cityscape photo of Brevard taken by ME!

Some of you may remember my earlier post about capturing this photo...click here.
I went through quite alot of work to capture that photo.

Check out the magazine....

Alaska...part I

I went to bed last night in hopes of waking up early this morning to finishing up the editing some portrait sessions or completing the rearranging of our living, which I began late last night. HOWEVER when I woke up ALASKA was on the brain! Family and friends have been bugging me to share photos from our trip (especially my mother!). When we returned I was immediately swamped with work stuff so this is literally the first time I've been able to sit down and look at them. There are sooo many wonderful photos that I am breaking into several sections.

For those of you who do not know Chris (my wonderful boyfriend) and I traveled to Alaska for two weeks in July. Chris' brother works in a small town just north of Seward, AK during the summer months and hopes to move up there permanently in the summer of 2011 just after graduation from App. State. We overlapped part of our trip with Chris' parents, who also visited. We were able to travel all over the Kenai Peninsula, hiking and fishing. It was soo great to just get away from our busy lives and relax (which I thought I have forgotten how to do).

We had a very close encounter with a young grizzly bear! Saw otters, moose, puffins, seals, sea lions, mountain goats and bald eagles (both immature and mature). The boys fished for salmon and trout. It was an amazing trip and I miss it ALOT after being back home and editing these photos.

While we were there I really missed our puppy, Oliver! Luckily we made friends with "J2" who had a collie named Waggly. I made buddies with Waggly to ease my pain of missing Oliver. She reminded me Oliver in a lot of ways, chasing the tennis ball non stop!

If you ever have the chance to make a trip to Alaska....DO IT!!!!!

Baby Mimi.....-Asheville Portrait Photographer

Tiny little Mirabelle amazes us all!

I met Christy and Matthew almost a year ago, when I photographed their wedding at the Key Falls Inn. I immediately fell in love with this couple. Keeping in touch over the year and then Christy told me her and Matthew were expecting a little one- to be due in August. We did some family/maternity photos in May. Christy and I planned to meet up closer to her due date to do a full maternity session. Only we never got that maternity session--- in late June Christy calls and tells me her water broke! and they are keeping her at the Hospital till she has the baby. Just a few days later, little "Mimi" was born! - almost 2 months before her due date! Amazing miracle she is doing so well that mom and baby are already home from the hospital, just one month after being born premie!

Mimi at a little over 5 lbs has the softest clearest skin I have ever seen a newborn have! She was an absolute angel at our session last week :)

More to come of this sweet baby later this week.....
